Actor Kevin Spacey has sold his Baltimore property for $3.24m. The move comes after the Oscar-winning actor revealed his financial difficulties saying he had to sell his home to pay for his legal fees. The 9,000 sq ft waterfront condo was sold to an anonymous businessman. When Clear Toaster LLC bought the property in 2017, it had cost over $5.6m. “It is an iconic property in Baltimore,” said Compass Realtor Sam Sheibani, adding “We were very interested in getting it, obviously not under the circumstances that it’s being sold, from whom it’s being sold.”

Spacey has not worked in Hollywood since 2017 when he faced several accusations of sexual misconduct. In 2021, he was found not guilty of all charges, and in 2022, a US court rejected a sexual assault lawsuit against him. However, in May 2024, ten more men came forth with accusations of misconduct in a documentary about him called Spacey Unmasked. Media sources report that Spacey insists he is innocent of all allegations.

During an interview with Piers Morgan, Spacey revealed that he had nothing to hide and wanted “to live a more open life than the one that I did.” However, during the same interview, he revealed his Baltimore house was at the foreclosure stage, and would soon be auctioned. “I’m not quite sure where I’m going to live now,” said Spacey.

Recently, Sharon Stone, Stephen Fry, F. Murray Abraham, and Liam Neeson joined forces in supporting Spacey’s return to Hollywood. However, some reports remark the fact that critics of the #MeToo movement may object particularly to Stone’s and Neeson’s support of the actor, and may see it as an assault on the movement
