Will Smith has released a new single titled ‘Work Of Art’ which features his son Jaden Smith and rapper Russ. The song is part of Will’s first album in almost two decades and is an uplifting tune that sees Smith making peace with himself for his differing points of views on certain topics. The music video for the single features clips of Will Smith and Russ in a museum where Will reveals that he recorded over 20 songs for his new project, but ‘Work Of Art’ encompassed what he wanted to rap about.

The lyrics of the song seem to reference Will’s infamous slap against Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars, where he says “I am a saint, but if you touch, I am a savage.” Jaden joins in on the chorus while Russ contributes to one verse. Will Smith most recently premiered another song at the 2024 BET Awards last month and first teased his upcoming album earlier in June.

Despite having released classics such as ‘Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It’, ‘Men In Black’ and ‘Wild Wild West’, Will Smith has yet to release an album since 2005. In 2017, he released ‘Get Lit’, his most recent solo release, while his most recent output was the 2020 Joyner Lucas cut ‘Will (Remix)’. Smith most recently joined J Balvin on stage at Coachella in April, where he performed ‘Men In Black’.

Singer-songwriter Teddy Swims recently revealed that he recorded a song with Will Smith and called his hero “the sweetest guy ever”. Teddy Swims explained that he can’t confirm anything about the song’s release but learning from someone who’s been through it all was a fantastic experience. In a recent review of Bad Boys: Ride Or Die, Martin Lawrence and Will Smith’s fourth installment in the series, James Mottram wrote: “a noisy, unfunny fourth installment that’s only made endurable by some raucous action scenes.
