Dresden-based musical duo ÄTNA have released their latest single ‘Major Love’, ahead of the upcoming album set to be released this autumn. The track is carried by soft, lush synths and blended with delicate, harmonic vocals that fluidly weave in and out of the song in a three-minute timespan.
According to the pair, “‘Major Love’ escapes our daily boredom for a trip for the senses in an ocean of flowers. Think Air’s ‘Moon Safari’ with the vibe of The XX blended in with Smoke City’s ‘Underwater Love’.”
After taking part in the SXSW Festival in Austin, the duo spontaneously decided to embark on a road trip through underprivileged areas of America that had been neglected following natural catastrophes. During their journey, they decided to stay and learn more about the people and their stories.
In collaboration with an oyster diver, ÄTNA shot a live video of the song on the open sea, in front of an abandon graveyard of oil rigs – arguably their most demanding one-shot live video to date due to the intense heat and the swaying of the fishing boat.
Listeners can check out the single via digital access and also watch the captivating one-shot video for ‘Major Love’ on YouTube.
