Joy Orbison has released a remix of his single ‘flight fm’. In collaboration with Chelsea FC who unveiled the club’s 2024-25 kit, the announcement video featuring the new mixes was shared on Twitter. The premiered remix by Joy Orbison captures the biggest underground sound of the year, as mentioned in the club’s official tweet. The video features sci-fi-inspired visuals and several Chelsea FC players.
‘flight fm’ has caused much anticipation since January 2024, where it was released via XL Recordings after previously being teased at club nights and festivals for months. Earlier this year, Joy Orbison released ‘archive 09-10’, a collection of highly requested club tracks and last summer, he collaborated with Kwengface and Overmono with the release of ‘Freedom 2’. The influential genre-crossing producer is set to perform at Houghton, We Out Here, and Dekmantel festivals this summer. Moreover, he will also play at BICEP’s ‘CHROMA IN THE PARK’ show at Finsbury Park in August.
The collaboration between Joy Orbison and Chelsea FC is definitely a different iteration in the DJ’s career. His legacy not only lies in his beatmaking but also in creative endorsements like this, and in turn, instrumental for the artists’ commercial and creative progression.
