Selena Gomez has been nominated for her first-ever Emmy for acting in her role in “Only Murders In The Building”. Gomez had previously been nominated for her work as an executive producer on the series but not in the acting category. Gomez was nominated alongside actors from “Abbott Elementary’s” Quinta Brunson, “The Bear”‘s Ayo Edebiri, “Loot”‘s Maya Rudolph, “Hacks”‘ Jean Smart and “Palm Royale”‘s Kristen Wiig. The Fan’s Reaction to this news is overwhelming.
This year’s Emmy nominations list was led by the FX’s Series “Shōgun” with 25 nominations, and closely followed by “The Bear” with 23 nominations, while “Only Murders In The Building,” “True Detective: Night Country” and “The Crown” took the third to fifth spot respectively.
The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards honour the best in American television, and the ceremony will be held on September 15 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and will be broadcast on ABC in the US. There is, however, no host announced yet for the show. Gomez expressed her gratitude to the news of her nomination by sharing a story on Instagram thanking the makers of the show for the opportunity to play the character of Mabel.
The nominees were announced from Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre by Tony Hale (“Veep”) and Sheryl Lee Ralph (“Abbott Elementary”). Other than this news, Lady Gaga fans were unhappy about the musician’s “Gaga Chromatica Ball” not being nominated for the Emmys. The Fans were hoping that Lady Gaga’s concert tour, which went on air in sequence with her sixth studio album called “Chromatica,” would receive a nomination. But unfortunately, this special concert show directed and produced by Gaga herself didn’t get nominated for the Emmys.
