To commemorate its 50th anniversary, Frank Zappa’s ‘Apostrophe (‘)’ album will feature a super-deluxe edition, according to sources. The musician’s sixth album, which was initially released in 1974, will receive a six-disc re-release featuring 75 tracks. It will be available starting September 13. The reissue will include the original nine songs, including classics like ‘Don’t Eat The Yellow Snow’ and ‘Cosmic Debris,’ as well as live Zappa concert material from Colorado and Ohio, new mixes, and more recording information from the album. The album’s photo’s photographer, Sam Emerson, will be featured in a 52-page book included in the box set, along with liner notes and essays by British music journalist Simon Prentis and Zappa archivist Joe Travers.

Travers said of the re-release, “With Apostrophe (‘), Zappa continued to carve out his own genre in music while celebrating ten years in the business. Nobody sounded like Frank Zappa… This album, and specifically ‘Don’t Eat The Yellow Snow,’ brought that unique wonderful sound to the masses in a way that nobody, including Frank, would expect.”
