During a performance in France at the Musilac Music Festival in Aix-Les-Bains, Yungblud joined Placebo on stage in a version of ‘Nancy Boy’. This was towards the end of Placebo’s set which included hits such as ‘The Bitter End’, ‘Every You Every Me’ and Kate Bush’s ‘Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)’. Footage from the show can be seen on social media platforms.

Yungblud wrote on his Instagram after the show, “I’ve joined Placebo and I’m not coming home,” accompanying the post with video footage of the performance. This was met with excitement from fans worldwide, with many taking to Twitter to share their excitement.

Placebo had recently hit the headlines earlier this month when they spoke out against their critics who criticised their appearance at St Gallen Festival, which was beset by technical issues. In addition, the band has recently announced details of a second feature-length documentary, titled ‘This Search For Meaning’. The project is an intimate and enlightening portrait of the band, which explores both the meaning and subject matter behind their songs, while also diving into their evolution as a group and as human beings.

Yungblud, on the other hand, released his new single ‘Breakdown’ in support of mental health charities last month. In the song, the musician opened up about his mental health struggles and committed to donating £1 (up to £25,000) to Mind and Sound Mind Live for every use of the song’s CapCut template. Besides, Yungblud is preparing to host BludFest at the Milton Keynes Bowl in August, where he will be joined on the bill by recently collaborator Lil Yachty, Soft Play, Nessa Barrett, The Damned, Lola Young and Jazmin Bean
