In a harrowing incident, a male individual was caught in a riptide and swept out to sea. Fortunately, swimmers nearby were able to come to his rescue and help him back to safety. The incident took place near Cromer Pier in Norfolk, with the group managing to make it back to shore but were described as being “very tired” by the RNLI.

Despite being able to return to land, the group required assistance from an ambulance crew on the town beach on Thursday evening. While they were “walking and talking,” it was essential for them to receive treatment following their ordeal.

Tim Ballard, from Cromer’s lifeboat team, praised the outcome, saying it was a “great outcome” given how dangerous the situation had been. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting the sea and being aware of the potential dangers, including riptides, before entering the water.

Thankfully, this story had a positive ending, with the individuals involved able to return to safety thanks to the bravery of the swimmers who intervened.
