In a latest musical collaboration, Orville Peck has teamed up with Beck for the release of their new single ‘Death Valley High’. The track features a bold brass section along with groovy bass and guitar lines, while both Peck and Beck sing “Sin City lights / Spin the wheel around and roll the dice / Death Valley high / Gonna let it run like the devil’s son tonight,” hailing Las Vegas and its electric scene. Austin Peters has directed the associated visuals for the ‘Death Valley High’ music video, serving as a tribute to Vegas. The opening of the video sports the word “Peck Beck” in lights, reminiscent of Elvis Presley’s ’68 comeback special. The duo can be seen performing at the centre of a roulette wheel, and the video features guest appearances by Sharon Stone and Gigi Goode who spend a night out in Sin City.
Peck’s new album ‘Stampede’, which follows his 2022 LP ‘Bronco’, will feature ‘Midnight Ride’, the masked singer’s collaboration with Kylie Minogue and Diplo, and ‘You’re an Asshole, I Can’t Stand You (and I Want a Divorce)’ featuring Margo Price. The album is available for pre-order or pre-save.
In other currently happening musical news, Beck has recently featured on a track with Mark Lanegan for the late singer’s re-issue of ‘Bubblegum’, marking his first posthumous release
