The manhunt for a suspect connected to the murder of three women has ended after the individual was discovered at a cemetery. Kyle Clifford, 26, has been taken into police custody following the deaths of Hannah Hunt, Louise Hunt, and their 61-year-old mother, Carol Hunt. The women were found with life-threatening injuries at their family home in Bushey, Hertfordshire, on the evening of July 27th and were pronounced dead at the scene. Clifford, who hails from Enfield, was wanted by police as they believed he may have been in possession of a crossbow.
Police issued a statement following Clifford’s arrest, saying, “following an extensive search, Kyle Clifford, aged 26, was found in the Enfield area by officers this afternoon. He is receiving medical treatment having been found with injuries. No shots were fired by police.”
The suspect’s connection to the victims has not been revealed, but reports indicate that he left the British Army after a brief stint in 2022.
Officials are urging potential witnesses to come forward, though they have not released details regarding the investigation’s progress. In a statement, Det Insp Justine Jenkins of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit said, “this continues to be an incredibly difficult time for the victims’ family and we would ask that their privacy is respected as they come to terms with what has happened. This investigation is moving at pace and formal identification of the victims is yet to take place.”
Local councillor Louise Nicolas expressed her “deep sadness” at the incident via social media, adding that it was a “live investigation, so speculation as to the circumstances should not be entered into [on public forums].”
