Bristol’s FORWARDS festival has unveiled the speakers for its talks stage, THE INFORMATION, in partnership with Channel 4. Between August 31st and September 1st, creatives, musicians, and social innovators will grace the stage for talks and discussions. Among the speakers are Brian Eno and Mikaela Loach who will engage in a conversation about Race In the Climate Crisis. Other speakers include YouTuber Mariam Musa, presenter Tolly T, and actor and rapper Bashy.
According to the festival’s website, THE INFORMATION will be a “pivotal platform, tackling pressing cultural issues head-on.” Gender roles, race, its intersection with the climate crisis, media and storytelling, youth exploitation, brand ethics, and methods of boycotting are just some of the themes that will be explored throughout the two-day event.
THE INFORMATION is just one aspect of a stacked festival line-up that includes big music names such as Loyle Carner, LCD Soundsystem, Four Tet, Jessie Ware, and Underworld. The festival’s tagline, “more than just a music festival”, reflects FORWARDS ethos of challenging what metropolitan festivals can be and how they can do good from the inside out.
FORWARDS is said to harness the power of live events to bring people together for incredible music moments and lasting positive change. Tickets to the festival can be obtained on the for forwards Bristol website.
