Duran Duran has just announced new US tour dates set to take place around Halloween later this year. The iconic 80s pop band will be heading to the United States for seven shows in total. Six of these shows will take place at the end of October, with the first show happening in Allentown, PA, at the PPL Center on October 21st. Additional dates include stops in Verona, NY, held at The Event Center at Turning Stone Resort Casino on October 23rd and Uncasville, CT, at the Mohegan Sun Arena on October 25th. More shows in Atlantic City and Baltimore are planned for the 26th and 28th respectively and all lead up to a massive Danse Macabre Halloween party at Madison Square Garden on October 31st. The tour will culminate with a final show at the SNHU Arena in Manchester, NH on November 2nd.
Duran Duran released news of the forthcoming gigs to celebrate the first anniversary of their most recent album, Danse Macabre. The project saw them reimagine songs from throughout their extensive discography while also sharing covers of tracks by Talking Heads, Billie Eilish, and more. The band is giving fans the opportunity to purchase tickets in advance by offering pre-sale options that can be accessed at 10 am local time on Thursday, July 11th, on Live Nation with the code STRUM. General ticket sales will begin this Friday, July 12th, at 10 am local time and will be available here.
Additionally, Duran Duran’s frontman, Simon Le Bon, was recently awarded an MBE for services to music and charity. News of the award was shared just days after it was revealed that the model from the group’s Rio album cover is Marcia Hunt, who is now known as Marcie Dinkel. Duran Duran, in an interview with NME last year, spoke about their eagerness to play Glastonbury Festival. The band has surprisingly never played the huge festival, but they expressed an interest in playing the main stage if given the opportunity
