Bklava, the London-based musician, has shared their latest mixtape titled ‘c u l8r.’ The release features 14 tracks that incorporate bass-heavy sounds, uplifting vocal house, garage, and inclinations of breaks, bass, diasporic club sounds, and more. The mixtape pays tribute to club culture and its rich history. Bklava brings in skippy 2-step, wobbling bassline, amen breaks, euphoric piano chords, and MC features for a club-ready release. Some familiar names making an appearance on the release include Big Ang, MJ Cole, and Soul Mass Transit System, among others.

In an interview about their latest release, Bklava explained that the mixtape is their most authentic work to date. It draws inspiration from the music they grew up with, the records they’ve collected, and the clubs they’ve frequented over the years. The London-based artist aims to channel the diverse emotions one goes through in a club over the course of a night.

Of the tracks featured in ‘c u l8r,’ Bklava considers one song as their most celebrated to date. The previously unheard track ‘Don’t Rush’ is entirely produced and written by the artist, marking a significant milestone in their independent artist’s journey. Bklava expresses pride in having captured a euphoric sound that they believe stands out in a crowd. They disclaim that upon hearing the song, it makes them feel obligated to close their eyes, at which point they genuinely connect with the track.

Bklava’s newly formed label, Spin Suga, hosts the release of ‘c u l8r’ and is available for streaming on various platforms. The launch of the label is in line with Bklava’s objective to create a platform for underserved artists, including females, transgender and non-binary performers.

Overall, the new release proves Bklava’s growth as an artist and their attachment to the club culture and its various elements. The blend of sounds on the mixtape will undoubtedly satisfy the cravings of club-goers worldwide.
