Geddy Lee, the vocalist and bassist of Rush, also shared a tribute on his personal Instagram page. Lee mentioned that Collins was a dear friend and producer of four of their albums.
Collins shared in an interview that he was captivated by the process of making records, which is what ultimately led to his career as a record producer. He also credited his background as a singer-songwriter for his British pop sensibility. Although some genres require precision, Collins did not aim for perfection in his work.
