Blondshell announced to her fans at Glastonbury 2024 that her second album is currently in production. During her performance, she gave audiences a sneak peek of two new tracks, one exploring a toxic relationship and the other called “T&A”, which she joked stood for “tits and ass”. She also performed a cover of Jane’s Addiction’s “Jane Says” and played songs from her self-titled debut album, including “Sober Together”.
Blondshell had already revealed in a previous interview that she had written her second album and had been exploring new themes. She spoke about the challenges of writing when in a happy relationship, particularly when she had written so much about heartbreak before. Despite feeling like her age may have held her back from success in the music industry, Blondshell’s debut album received a five-star review from NME and was described as one of the alternative rock albums of the year.
Blondshell thanked the Glastonbury crowd for coming to see her, expressing how much it meant to her and that she would remember it forever. Fans still have more to look forward to with performances from SZA, Janelle Monae, The National, Two Door Cinema Club, Avril Lavigne, Justice, Nia Archives, James Blake, Alvvays, Romy and more yet to come throughout the weekend. Reviews of different performers’ sets have been mixed, with some earning perfect five-star ratings while others scored lower.
