Glastonbury 2024: here’s what Fontaines D.C. played

Dublin’s Fontaines D.C. capped off the opening night of Glastonbury 2024 on the Park Stage, entertaining tens of thousands of festival-goers. The band thrilled fans with epic renditions of their most popular songs. One of the tracks that stood out was ‘Romance,’ which they opened their set with. They followed it up with ‘Jackie Down The Line’ and ‘Televised Mind.’

As the crowd swayed, they further delivered some of their fan-favorite hits, including ‘A Hero’s Death,’ ‘Big,’ ‘Nabokov,’ and ‘How Cold Love Is,’ ahead of closing the show with ‘I Love You,’ ‘Favourite,’ and ‘Starburster.’ The night was a resounding success, and Fontaines D.C. could not have been more pleased with their performance, having spent the last year preparing for the festival.

Throughout the day, festival-goers enjoyed a plethora of performances across multiple stages. Earlier in the day, the historic appearance of Korean boyband SEVENTEEN took place; they became the first K-pop group to grace the Pyramid Stage. Amongst the performances, Irish folk band Mary Wallopers played Glastonbury for the second year in a row, moving up to the Park Stage from the Crows Nest and Acoustic Stage.

Paul Heaton and Norman Cook went on to have a mini Housemartins reunion, as they performed the 1986 hit ‘Happy Hour’ during Heaton’s Pyramid Stage set, and Bombay Bicycle Club brought out Blur frontman Damon Albarn as a special guest to perform ‘Heaven.’ Dua Lipa closed out the night on the Pyramid Stage, giving an energetic set, with Tame Impala even making an appearance.
