Fans of K-pop group 2NE1 might be excited to hear about potential plans for a reunion. Agency YG Entertainment announced that the group members had a two-hour meet up with executive producer Yang Hyun-suk to discuss plans for the future. According to the agency, despite no concrete plans being made, they are looking forward to sharing good news with fans soon.
Korean news outlet OSEN was the first to report about the possible meeting, sparking reunification rumors. The four members of the successful second-generation K-pop group have not released any new music since the band broke up in 2016. Member Minzy had previously parted ways with the group after being on a year-long hiatus.
The group had a series of hits that included several chart-toppers such as “Fire”, “I Am The Best”, and “Come Back Home”. Last month, the members shared pictures from a photoshoot commemorating their 15th anniversary, leading to further speculation about a reunion.
Fans had a brief reunion preview after leader CL invited the group on stage with her to perform at the 88rising takeover during Coachella in 2022. 2NE1 debuted under YG Entertainment in 2009, skyrocketing them to fame over the years as they released various hits.
