Meeting royalty is a once in a lifetime experience, and NFL player Travis Kelce is still over the moon about meeting Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte backstage at one of Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras’ tour concerts at Wembley Stadium last weekend. He recounted his experience on his brother’s podcast, ‘New Heights.’ Kelce revealed that he felt fortunate not to get caught up in traffic and arrived early at the venue, which allowed him to meet with Prince William.
On the podcast, Kelce said, “Dude, he was the coolest motherfucker. He was so cool,” describing his experience meeting Prince William as incredible. Kelce and his brother were unsure whether they should bow or curtsy when meeting the Royals and felt like polite Americans shaking hands was the best course of action.
Although meeting Prince William was fantastic, Kelce said the highlight of the experience was meeting Princess Charlotte. “She was so adorable, and there was fire to her. She was asking questions, and I love it when parents ask their kids to be present and be vocal. Such a good parent move. If anyone’s doing it right, Prince William’s doing it right.”
Swift posted a birthday message for Prince William, which included a selfie featuring herself, Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Travis Kelce. Kelce met Swift, Prince William, and the Royals at the concert, but this wasn’t the first time Prince William and Swift had met. In 2013, they joined Jon Bon Jovi on stage at a charity event at Kensington Palace for a performance of ‘Livin’ On A Prayer.’
The Kelce brothers shared their experience with meeting the Royals and attending the ‘Eras’ tour concert, and gave high praise to Taylor Swift, calling the show a marvel that comes with a beating heart. The concert was Taylor Swift’s first of three sold-out shows at Wembley Stadium, with Prince William celebrating his 42nd birthday at this show.
