Slipknot’s founding member and percussionist Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan has announced that the iconic metal band will be releasing new music soon. This follows the surprise announcement that they had written ‘Long May You Die’, their first track with new drummer Eloy Casagrande six weeks ago. In a new interview with Revolver, Crahan revealed that there will always be new Slipknot music, but emphasised that their filtering system must go through everyone, hinting that the band is communicating about music better now than ever before.
Crahan also referred to the band’s recent split from Roadrunner Records, expressing his excitement at the opportunity to release new work without the interference of a label. Each member of the band is motivated by the love of creating music, and they are already busy with new ideas. Crahan stated that they plan to release new material soon, and he hopes that the band will have a say in when and how it is released.
Lead guitarist Jim Root described the energy that Casagrande brings to the band, dubbing him a “Jedi drum master.” Root expressed his excitement at the new material that the band is working on, which they created while jamming at home. Crahan reiterated that he is interested in the potential of creating music directly from the band’s brains to their fans’ brains. Meanwhile, the late Joey Jordison’s family has shared the first tribal ‘S’ design that he created for Slipknot.
Slipknot fans eagerly await the release of new music from the iconic band, now that their newest member, Casagrande, has joined. Crahan assures fans that the band is working hard to keep the creative energy flowing and will release more music soon. The band has a unique way of filtering their work to ensure that each member’s contributions are heard, and there is no interference from outside labels. We look forward to hearing what this iconic band will produce next
