British singer Alison Moyet recently performed a lively cover of David Bowie’s ‘Absolute Beginners’ on BBC Radio 2’s piano room segment. She also sang her latest single ‘Such Small Ale’ from her new album ‘Key,’ set to be released on October 4. Moyet, once a member of Yazoo, was also featured in a cover of The Beatles’ ‘Let It Be’ in 1985 along with Bowie, Paul McCartney, and Peter Townshend.
‘Key’ celebrates the 40th anniversary of Moyet’s solo career and offers new versions of 16 of her previous singles and tracks. The LP aims to revisit songs that have not been fully realized or have been altered by time.
Moyet has also announced her 2025 UK and EU tour dates. She will perform in cities like Dublin, Manchester, and Glasgow through March and April. For ticket information, visit here.
In an official statement, Moyet expressed her excitement for the album’s release, saying, “I wanted to take the opportunity to look at the trajectory of the past four decades and explore songs that, in their original form, were never fully realized or have had their relevance to me altered by time.”
