The Jesus and Mary Chain announce North American tour with the Psychedelic Furs

The Jesus and Mary Chain have announced a forthcoming North American tour with the Psychedelic Furs, set to take place later this year. The tour is scheduled to begin in Philadelphia on September 29 and will include various cities across the continent through to November 11, where it will conclude at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California. Newcomer Frankie Rose will also be set to open the show in addition to the Psychedelic Furs.

In another update, it was reported that The Jesus and Mary Chain and Robert Fripp were among a few artists who filed a lawsuit against the PRS over songwriter royalties. The lawsuit was filed over the way the organization manages royalties from live performances, with the said artists accusing PRS of charging high administrative costs for smaller songwriters while giving special treatment to the more prominent ones. The songwriters have partnered with PACE Rights Management, a global organization that oversees direct licensing of live public performance rights, in their struggle, and have also urged music writers and publishers to guide their live public execution rights without having to go through the PRS
