Watch Hayley Williams join Taylor Swift to perform ‘Castles Crumbling’ in London

Paramore’s Hayley Williams joined Taylor Swift on stage at London’s Wembley Stadium during last night’s ‘Eras’ tour stop for a performance of ‘Castles Crumbling’. The rarely performed song features on ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’, on which Williams appears. This was the first time the two musicians had performed the song live together. During the emotional duet, Swift expressed admiration for Williams: “I love you so much. You’re so good, it’s crazy…I can’t believe she’s ever talked to me once.” Williams replied: “You’re my longest music friend. Thank you. I love you.”

Paramore are supporting Swift on all dates of her ‘Eras’ tour. Celebrities spotted in the audience included Tom Cruise, Hugh Grant, and Greta Gerwig as well as Swift’s partner, Travis Kelce. Swift will be performing at Wembley Stadium again tonight before returning to the venue for five more dates in August. Paramore opened every UK show on this leg of the tour, including a nine-song set and covers of Talking Heads’ “Burning Down The House”.

Williams recently posted on Instagram that she was “so ready” to tour with Swift again upon praising the popstar’s latest release, ‘The Tortured Poet’s Department’. Discussing their long friendship with Swift last year, Paramore said, “We know how rare it is to last this long in the music industry. It’s amazing what she’s traversed through and not only managed to last, but continue to get better as an artist, get bigger in her appeal…We’ve been in this for as long and we’ve really survived a lot, whether that is self-inflicted shit or just the industry at large and the world at large.” NME awarded Swift’s first UK show a full five stars, opining that Swift has “managed to craft a marvel of a show that comes with a beating heart.”
