AK SPORTS, the Australian label, has just released the debut V/A on the imprint CLUB MADHOUSE, in which 14 tracks explore the “new world rave” sound. The tunes feature a blend of sounds from techno, trance, acid, breakbeat, hardstyle, and Latin-influenced techno, which make the record hard, fast, and full of energy. It includes artists from all over the world, such as Mija, Motez, Shake Daddy, and RAVETRX, among others.
In some way, AK SPORTS has been preparing to put out the V/A’s sophomore release on her label for some time. The individual tracks of the V/A were released every week after its announcement in April. CLUB MADHOUSE 002 is now available and showcases various emerging, established, and masked producers from the UK, Australia, Mexico, Colombia, Iraq, America, and Ireland playing hard, fast, fun, and sometimes ridiculous music.
AK SPORTS has revealed that “This is an exploration of new-world-rave, taking 90s rave to the global internet village. With peer reviews the likes of ‘ridiculous – but amusing and fun,’ ‘quite the mad collection,’ ‘wild comp’, ‘what’s going on here, I love it,’ ‘bass face all the way,’ and of course ‘downloaded for r hawtin,’ I would like to say mischief managed.”
The introduction of ‘CLUB MADHOUSE 002’ has certainly raised eyebrows, and it is readily available on Bandcamp. The record showcases new directions for the genre and sets an expectation for the future of dance music
