Kendrick Lamar took to the stage in Los Angeles for his concert, ‘The Pop Out: Ken & Friends’, where he performed his diss track aimed at Drake, ‘Not Like Us’, five times during the show. The gig, which celebrated Juneteenth, aimed to display West Coast talent, with over 20 guest performers including Dr. Dre, Schoolboy Q, Tyler, The Creator and Steve Lacy.

The rapper sported a red hoodie, light-washed jeans and sneakers – an outfit reminiscent of what Tupac had worn during one of his concerts in 1994. Lamar even called for Drake to give back Tupac’s ring, a piece believed to have been sold at auction recently and subsequently purchased by the Canadian rapper, in his new verse: “Give me Tupac ring back and I might give you a little respect”. The vibe of the show was electric and there was a huge singalong when Lamar performed the live debut of ‘Euphoria’, which features in his diss track aimed at Drake.

To end his show, Kendrick Lamar performed ‘Not Like Us’ five times in succession. The crowd went wild as Dr. Dre even joined Lamar on stage to credibly sing the track’s opening line, “Pssst, I see dead people”. Other high-profile stars like Lebron James, Rick Ross and NBA stars James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Coby White and DeMar DeRozan attended the concert.

Lamar’s single, ‘Not Like Us’, has broken records, debuting at Number One on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US. The song has become Lamar’s fourth number one song, following his feature on Future and Metro Boomin’s ‘Like That’, and his own ‘Humble’ and his verse on Taylor Swift’s 2015 track ‘Bad Blood’. It also broke records as the hip-hop song streamed the most times in a day on Spotify, racking up 6.8 million plays.
