Scott’s arrest occurred just eight days before his Circus Maximus stadium tour was due to start on 28 June in the Netherlands. The Astroworld rapper hasn’t made any official statement regarding the arrest. It’s still unknown if he has been released from custody.

The rapper is the latest celebrity to make headlines this week due to being arrested. Pop star Justin Timberlake was arrested in Long Island, New York for “driving while intoxicated.” According to a complaint obtained by the New York Post, the 10-time Grammy Award winner claimed that he had consumed just “one martini” before following his friends home in his car.

Scott’s arrest comes just months after his Astroworld Festival, where 10 people were killed and hundreds injured in a deadly crowd crush. Drake, who performed at the festival, has sought dismissal from the ongoing litigation over the crowd crush. Despite the tragedy, Scott announced his plan for another Astroworld Festival, and tickets for the event sold out immediately
