‘House Of The Dragon’s latest episode creates major ‘Game Of Thrones’ plot hole

The first episode of season two of “House Of The Dragon” has left fans noting a significant plot hole in “Game Of Thrones” lore. The episode aired on HBO in the US on June 17th, with UK audiences watching the episode concurrently via Sky Atlantic and streaming service NOW. During the episode, Cregan Stark tells a story of King Jaehaerys and Queen Alysanne’s dragons being unable to go beyond the Wall, which is home to Jon Snow.

This revelation appears to be in stark contrast to the facts previously established in “Game Of Thrones,” where Daenerys Targaryen does cross the Wall to try and save Jon Snow. Although the Lord of Winterfell’s dragons are seemingly more powerful than Daenerys’, audiences are informed that at least two of them were unable to cross the Wall, with no logical explanation given.

In other news related to “House of the Dragon,” it was confirmed that a new spin-off series titled “A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms” was in production. Adapted from George R. R. Martin’s novel, “The Hedge Knight,” the show is set to take place a century before the events of “Game of Thrones” and a century after those of “House Of The Dragon.” The story follows Ser Duncan the Tall and his young squire, Egg, as they compete and encounter members of the infamous Targaryen dynasty.

A handful of actors have already been named to star in the series, including Finn Bennett, Bertie Carvel, Tanzyn Crawford, and Daniel Ings. The reviews for the second season of “House of the Dragon” have been positive, with a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. HBO has also announced that the “Game of Thrones” prequel series has been renewed for a third season
