Justin Timberlake “refused breathalyser” when arrested for driving while intoxicated, his lawyer says

Justin Timberlake has been released from custody with no bail and only charged with a “single count” of driving while intoxicated. According to his lawyer, Ed Burke, Timberlake refused the breath test, but was also charged with running a stop sign and not travelling in the correct traffic lane. Despite initially being arrested earlier this week, he is due back in court on July 26.

The 10-time Grammy Award winner was stopped in Long Island following a complaint to police that a driver was “driving erratically”. The arrest came after the police stated that the arresting officer noticed Timberlake had bloodshot, glassy eyes, smelled of alcohol and performed poorly on field sobriety tests.

Despite his recent brush with the law, Timberlake remains a much-loved pop superstar with a number of upcoming shows scheduled this summer. He is set to perform a two-night run at Chicago’s United Center on June 21 and 22, followed by two shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden next week. Tickets for these shows can be purchased online.

Timberlake was recently in the headlines following the release of his sixth album, ‘Everything I Thought It Was’. In a three-star review, NME wrote: “Timberlake is a less beloved pop superstar than he probably should be 25 years after he sang ‘It’s gonna be may’ on an era-defining NSYNC banger. ‘Everything I Thought It Was’ shows he hasn’t lost his vocal chops or ability to work a groove, but it doesn’t do enough to make you block out past misdemeanours.”

The 40-year-old also recently made headlines during a NSYNC reunion at his LA show earlier this year, marking the band’s first live performance since 2013. Despite his earlier troubles with the law, Timberlake’s popularity seems to remain unaffected, and many fans continue to show their support for the superstar
