George Daniel, drummer for The 1975, has announced the launch of DH2, a new electronic music imprint under the independent label Dirty Hit. Taking to social media, Daniel revealed that he will be spearheading the new label as a subsidiary of Dirty Hit, stating “I am so happy and excited to announce my new label DH2. Let’s go.” The announcement also revealed a label launch party at Phonox in Brixton on July 11th, to feature performances by Daniel, Kelly Lee Owens, Oscar Farrell, and TimFromTheHouse.

Pre-sale tickets for the launch party will be available on June 20th at 10am BST, with general tickets to go on sale via the DH2 website on June 21st, also at 10am BST. However, further details concerning the roster and releases of the newly unveiled DH2 label remain under wraps.

Dirty Hit was founded in 2009 and signed The 1975, then referred to as Drive Like I Do, as the label’s first artist. The success of the band’s debut album in 2013 highlighted the label’s potential for success, and in 2019 all members of the band reportedly acquired a stake in the company, with lead singer Matty Healy also serving as creative director for four years until 2023.

George Daniel has produced for numerous artists outside of The 1975, including his fiancé Charli XCX, Sam Smith, Beabadoobee, and No Rome. Daniel most recently worked on Charli XCX’s ‘Brat’, which scored a four-star review at NME. Through DH2, Daniel will now have a platform to bring his passion for electronic music to greater audience
