As the countdown to Glastonbury 2024 begins, festival-goers might be wondering what to bring aside from the typical rain gear and sunblock. According to Met Office forecaster Stephen Dixon, the festival will start dry, but later in the week could see some rain and “subdued temperatures” are expected. Speaking to the Independent, Dixon said that since there is no forecast for any one weather pattern to dominate the event, typical UK weather conditions are most probable with a mix of weather types.
The Met Office forecast for the week ahead shows a mostly sunny and cloudy outlook with high temperatures up to 21 degrees. Dixon explained that all areas will see some spells of dry or sunny weather but with showers or longer periods of rain expected. The forecast will continue to be updated daily, and you can also check AccuWeather predictions throughout the festival.
On Glastonbury’s first day, Wednesday, June 26, the forecast is for mostly cloudy and warm weather with a “touch of rain” in the afternoon and highs of 24 degrees. By Thursday, there will be more rain and the possibility of thunderstorms. From Friday to Sunday, there will be continued high temperatures in the low 20s, some chance of rain and mostly cloudy weather.
As we get closer to the festival, the updated weather forecast will be available daily, so check back for any changes. Don’t forget your rain poncho, sunscreen, and wellies if you’re planning on attending Glastonbury 2024
