The Newton Heath branch of supermarket Lidl has installed a commemorative blue plaque to honour Liam Gallagher, who “almost” played a gig there this year. Gallagher had joked in May on social media that if his show at Manchester’s Co-Op Live Arena was not “sorted”, then he would play at Lidl instead.
