The King’s Birthday Honours list includes a former sub-postmaster, Alan Bates, who campaigned against the Post Office Horizon scandal and has now been knighted. Actress Imelda Staunton, designer Anya Hindmarch, and artist Tracey Emin were also nominated and have received damehoods.
