Foo Fighters kick off UK tour with debut of years-old unfinished demo ‘Unconditional’

The Foo Fighters have embarked on their UK tour, with the first show taking place in Manchester. The band switched up their setlist for the summer tour, adding in a surprise in the form of a previously unheard track called ‘Unconditional’. The song was partially written and demoed years ago but was ultimately left unfinished. However, during rehearsals for the UK tour, the band rediscovered the song and decided to share it with fans in the same way they discovered it – live. You can watch fan-shot footage of the live performance of ‘Unconditional’ online.

The first show of the tour also saw Dave Grohl perform an acoustic version of ‘Under You’ solo for the first time. Other hits played during the evening included ‘The Pretender’, ‘Walk’, ‘My Hero’, ‘The Sky Is A Neighbourhood’, ‘Best Of You’ and ‘Everlong’.

Following the Manchester show, the band is set to play six more shows in the UK throughout June, with a final show in Birmingham on June 27.

Last year, the band released their 11th studio album, ‘But Here We Are’. They also played a surprise hits-filled set at Glastonbury 2023. In other news, new drummer Josh Freese recently recalled the unexpected moment when frontman Dave Grohl asked him to join the band following the death of their previous drummer, Taylor Hawkins.

Tickets for the remaining shows are now available via Ticketmaster
