Taylor Swift has announced that her much-loved ‘Eras’ tour is coming to an end later this year. During her show in Liverpool, which marked her 100th show of the tour, Swift told fans that it had been “the most exhausting, all-encompassing but most joyful, most rewarding, most wonderful thing that has ever wondered in my life”. Swift went on to explain that the tour will officially come to an end in December, saying: “This tour has really become my entire life, it’s taken over everything, like I think I once had hobbies, but I don’t know what they were anymore.”
Following her European concerts, Swift will return to North America to perform in Miami, New Orleans, and Indianapolis in October and November before concluding the tour with several shows in Canada. The last concert of the tour is scheduled for December 8 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
NME had high praise for Swift’s performance during her first Edinburgh show of the tour earlier this month, recalling “a community” of Swift’s fans who swapped friendship bracelets, laughed and cried together, and shouted in-jokes during the show. According to the reviewer, Swift has inspired “countless fans to come out and embrace being a part of the Eras family”, making her performance a “marvel” and a testament to “the power of Swift.”
Swift’s ‘Eras’ tour has been one of the most celebrated and successful live shows in recent years, earning plaudits for its over-the-top theatrics and elaborate costumes. Whilst Swift has yet to announce plans for future tours, fans will surely be hoping that it won’t be long until she’s back on the road again.
Swift will continue to perform in Liverpool before moving to Cardiff for a single night on June 18th and three shows at London’s Wembley Stadium from the 18th-22nd of June. She will then head to Dublin on June 28th before taking the tour around Europe
