Roger Daltrey, the frontman of The Who, has expressed his frustration towards fans who look up setlists before attending concerts. In an interview with Billboard, Daltrey refused to name any of the songs he will be performing on his upcoming solo North American tour. He lamented that the internet has “ruined” concerts by leaving no surprises. Daltrey stated, “Who wants to know what’s coming next? People forget about surprises. I can’t stand it.” He also rejected the interviewer’s suggestion that people use the song list as an opportunity to plan a toilet break.

The Who’s guitarist, Pete Townshend, recently shared an update on the band’s farewell tour, stating that he was being “sarcastic” when he hinted at the idea. Originally, it seemed that The Who was planning a farewell tour to culminate their touring days. Last month, Townshend stated that the band has one “final” thing to do before ending their career.

Daltrey recently reflected on turning 80 and stated that, “he has to be realistic” and is “on the way out”. He stepped down as the curator for the Teenage Cancer Trust charity shows, which he had been involved in for the past 20 years. In a previous interview in January, Daltrey expressed his happiness that “that part of my life is over” and clarified that any decision about calling it a day would have to be made alongside Townshend.

Daltrey’s upcoming solo North American tour will consist of nine “semi-acoustic” shows from June 12 to June 28. Tickets for the tour can be purchased via Ticketmaster
