A commemorative parade was held by veterans in Liverpool City Centre on Sunday, 9 June, to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day. The parade began at the Royal Albert Dock, with prayers and readings from The Rector of Liverpool, The Reverend Canon, Dr Crispin Pailing MBE, Lord Mayor of Liverpool Cllr Richard Kemp, and Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside Mark Blundell.

One of the highlights of the event was the performance of Amazing Grace and the National Anthem by Mezzo soprano Danielle Louise Thomas. The parade was the culmination of various events that took place to mark the eight decades since the beginning of the Battle of Normandy. The veterans marched through Liverpool City Centre with pride as they were cheered on by the crowds that had assembled to watch the parade.

The event was a fitting tribute to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for their country.
