Feathers McGraw, the ultimate villain in Wallace and Gromit’s world, will face off against the iconic duo in a new full-length feature film this Christmas, according to the BBC. The 70-minute adventure called Vengeance Most Fowl, will mark the return of McGraw, who was last seen causing chaos in the 1993 Oscar-winning short film, The Wrong Trousers. Fans of the franchise have asked Nick Park, the creator, if the character would ever come back, to which he readily obliged.
The new Wallace and Gromit film will see the cheese-loving inventor and his faithful dog once again try to thwart the evil plans of the daredevil penguin. The duo’s last on-screen adventure was in 2008’s A Matter of Loaf and Death. Wallace and Gromit’s film is a consistent Christmas favourite on TV screens, with the debut movie, A Grand Day Out, airing on Channel 4 on Christmas Eve 1990. The follow-up, The Wrong Trousers, was broadcast by the BBC on Boxing Day 1993. The duo were also immortalised in Christmas stamps in 2010.
New stand-alone plotlines aim to bring more variety to Wallace and Gromit’s world. In Vengeance Most Fowl, Wallace develops a “smart gnome” that has a life of its own. Feathers McGraw returns from prison wearing the same rubber gloves which he wore in the 1993 film to impersonate a chicken. The teaser trailer revealed the return of the notorious villain’s iconic items.
Actors Ben Whitehead and Peter Kay will continue their much-loved roles as Wallace and PC Mackintosh, respectively. Reece Shearsmith and Lauren Patel from Inside No 9 and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie respectively, join the case along with Diane Morgan, Adjoa Andoh, and Sir Lenny Henry in cameo roles. The new 70-minute Wallace and Gromit feature film will be shown on BBC One and on the Netflix network worldwide over Christmas
