The organisers of Parklife Festival announced on Twitter that J Hus has pulled out of his headlining slot, stating “unforeseen circumstances”. The announcement came just three days before the festival was set to take place and J Hus was due to perform on the Valley stage on Sunday, June 9th. With Fisher also having pulled out of his headlining slot due to his partner’s pregnancy, fans have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment with the last minute changes to the line-up.
J Hus released ‘Beautiful And Brutal Yard’ last year, and his first album in six years saw him collaborate with the likes of Jorja Smith, Popcaan and Drake. The album was well-received, with critics praising his exploration of new music, while channelling his struggles and romantic pursuits in each song.
While J Hus won’t be performing at this year’s Parklife Festival, fans can still catch him performing at Roskilde Festival and Wireless Festival later in the year.
It is yet to be seen if there will be a replacement act for J Hus at the festival or whether the line-up will be changed in any way due to the last minute cancellations. Fans are keeping an eye on the Parklife app for any updates.
It’s disappointing for fans to hear of the cancellations so close to the festival, as both Fisher and J Hus were headlining acts and were eagerly anticipated by many. However, Parklife is still set to go ahead with over 100 acts gracing Heaton Park this weekend
