Rock band Queens of the Stone Age will conclude their ‘The End Is Nero’ global tour with gigs in the US in the autumn. The band will play Boston, Cincinnati, Chicago and Madison, Wisconsin, before playing two festivals: Soundside in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and Mempho Music in Memphis, Tennessee. Pre-sale tickets are available and general ticket sales will be available from 7 June via Ticketmaster.
The band are set to headline Download Festival for the first time next week. Speaking to NME, frontman Josh Homme and guitarist Dean Fertita said they don’t feel any pressure to perform at the festival and are intent on keep their setlist unique every night. “We’ll decide five minutes before going on to play something that we haven’t played in 20 years”, said Fertita.
Looking to the future, Homme said the band needs to produce more music, there has been a mantra of ‘It won’t be long now!’ for the last five years, which now needs extending to their recording output. The band last dropped a full album in 2017, Villains.
The band that was formed in 1996 in Palm Desert, California, are known for hits that include Go with the Flow, Little Sister and No One Knows, and has been much admired for their use of different instrumentation and different musical styles.
