Funeral For A Friend to replace Bad Omens at Download Festival

Funeral For A Friend has been announced as the replacement for Bad Omens at the upcoming Download Festival. Bad Omens was slated to headline the second stage on the first day of the festival but withdrew due to frontman Noah Sebastian’s extreme burnout. He stated in a press release that their album cycle has pushed him to the limits of his mental capacity and has led to detrimental effects on his health on the road. In light of this, he believes the decision to cancel the tour is in the best interest of his wellbeing and Bad Omens’ long-term sustainability.

Funeral For A Friend recently performed for the first time since the departure of vocalist Matthew Davies-Kreye at Newport’s Corn Exchange and Slam Dunk Festival alongside Lucas Woodland of Holding Absence on vocals. They will be performing together once more at Download, where Woodland will join them on stage, followed by a performance with Holding Absence the following day. This year’s Download Festival will see over twenty different bands performing throughout the weekend.

According to Andy Copping, Download boss, this year’s festival will have a surprise performer. Copping recently hosted an hour-long show on Planet Rock called Andy Copping’s Secrets of Download during the bank holiday (May 27), where he revealed that fans should prepare for yet another secret set. Fans should keep their eyes and ears open because something spectacular is in store.

The festival will be taking place at Donington Park from June 14th to June 16th. Tickets are already available for purchase. Funeral For A Friend previously played at the first Download Festival back in 2003
