In a recent shareholders meeting, Min Hee-jin has been confirmed as ADOR’s CEO despite an ongoing dispute with HYBE. ADOR is a K-pop agency that is a subsidiary of the entertainment conglomerate HYBE. The decision was made by the board of ADOR during an extraordinary shareholders meeting on May 31. According to reports from Yonhap News Agency and Korea JoongAng Daily, Min will continue to helm ADOR as its CEO.
The decision comes on the heels of a Seoul court injunction in favor of Min, which prevented HYBE from exercising its voting rights to dismiss her. The court case was initiated after an increasingly heated feud between Min and HYBE over the ownership of ADOR, which is home to the group NewJeans. Min holds an 18% stake in ADOR, and HYBE owns an 80% stake in the company.
Despite the court victory, two of Min’s close aides on the board were dismissed and replaced by three C-suite executives from HYBE during the shareholders meeting, according to Yonhap reports. This move will reportedly grant HYBE control over the board. Min has announced that she will hold a press conference later in the day to address the situation.
Last month, Min denied claims by HYBE that she planned to take over ADOR in a press conference. HYBE later responded, alleging that the ADOR CEO had misrepresented the timeline of events.
