Eminem announces new single ‘Houdini’, coming this week

After teasing the release of his first track from upcoming album ‘The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)’, Eminem has announced the title of the new single during a video call with magician David Blaine. The rapper called Blaine and asked him for his help with a stunt, to which the illusionist replied “We should do something together one time.” Eminem then replied with “So what I was wondering is, how far can we go with this magic? Like, can we do like a stunt or something? Well for my last trick, I’m going to make my career disappear.” The teaser ends with the confirmation of the new single’s title, ‘Houdini’, which will be released on May 31st.

‘Houdini’ is inspired by Harry Houdini, the escape artist and stunt performer, who began his magic career in 1891 and died in 1926. The record is due to arrive this summer, but an exact release date is not yet known. However, fans have already speculated about a potential title for one of the tracks, after Eminem ran a fake Slim Shady obituary in a Detroit Newspaper earlier this month. Eagle-eyed fans pointed to the odd punctuation in the subhead – which read “Fans ‘Will Never Forget’ Controversial Rapper” – as a clue to the title.

Dr. Dre revealed during the year that Eminem was working on a new album and that he was producing several tracks for the rapper. This will be his first album since 2020’s ‘Music To Be Murdered By’. Fans can pre-order it from Eminem’s online store. It is unclear if there will be any featured guests on the album, but die-hard fans are anticipating the release with great excitement
