Iconic punk band Dropkick Murphys have revealed they will play five shows across the United Kingdom over one week in February 2025. The tour will begin in Birmingham on February 4, followed by additional shows in Glasgow, Manchester, and Cardiff before concluding at London’s Alexandra Palace on February 8. Tickets for the shows are available to purchase via Ticketmaster UK.
Before returning to the UK, Dropkick Murphys will perform a series of European festival shows, including appearances at France’s HellFest Open Air and Germany’s Rock Am Ring, as well as a US tour in the autumn. The announcement of their UK shows follows the release of two acoustic albums, 2022’s ‘This Machine Still Kills Fascists’ and 2023’s ‘Okemah Rising’, which saw the band reinterpreting the works of Woody Guthrie.
Dropkick Murphys recorded the albums in Woody Guthrie’s home state of Oklahoma to retrace the musician’s steps and immerse themselves in his world. The band’s material focused heavily on Woody’s unpublished lyrics and included the single ‘Two 6’s Upside Down’, which tells the story of “a forlorn gambler’s lament, awash in love and loss, murder and punishment.”
Dropkick Murphys were scheduled to mark their 25th anniversary in 2022 with a tour of the UK and Ireland, but due to complications stemming from COVID-19, the gigs were postponed to 2023. Following the release of their latest albums, fans across the UK will be eagerly anticipating the chance to see the Boston-Irish band live once again.
Overall, Dropkick Murphys have become one of the most legendary names in punk rock, and their UK fans will undoubtedly be thrilled to see them perform at venues across the country in 2025
