On the weekend, K-pop boyband SHINee remembered their late member Jonghyun during their concert in Incheon, South Korea. The concerts were the encore dates of their ‘SHINee World VI: Perfect Illumination’ tour, which ran from May 24 to 26. During the final show of the tour, members of the boyband remembered and spoke about Jonghyun.
According to SBS Star, the moment came shortly after what the publication described as a “flashlight event” for SHINee. Following the performance, member Taemin spoke about how the moment had “felt like a dream” to him. Additionally, Key spoke at the end of the show about how he had “thought a lot about Jonghyun” over the course of the concert.
Fans also noticed a moment during the performance of their 2013 hit ‘Everybody’, where Minho blew a kiss up towards the sky, which they believe was also in tribute to Jonghyun. This was similar to how Taemin sent a kiss to the sky in a past concert.
Back in December 2023, on the sixth anniversary of Jonghyun’s death, the members of SHINee remembered the singer with posts on the group’s social media page and their personal Instagrams. “It’s already been six years since that day,” wrote band member Onew, “It feels like time has both flown by and felt as long as a day. I feel like we’ve gained more strength through shedding more tears.
