The acclaimed Australian punk rock band Amyl & The Sniffers have released their new single ‘U Should Not Be Doing That’. The track is the band’s first new music in three years since they released their second studio album ‘Comfort To Me’ in 2021. The single comes with a B-side called ‘Facts’, both of which frontwoman Amy Taylor says are “pretty self-explanatory”. The song, according to Taylor, pokes fun at the shock that some people still feel when faced with skimpy clothing. She also accuses the music community of being “bitchy” and slams some of the older metalheads who criticise young women in the industry.
Amyl & The Sniffers are set to embark on their UK/Europe tour soon and will support the Foo Fighters in North America later in the year. The band has also been announced for a stacked Primavera Festival lineup this year alongside SZA, Pulp, FKA Twigs, Disclosure, The National, and Lana Del Rey among others.
