Jeonghan and Wonwoo from SEVENTEEN are set to make their debut as a sub-unit with their first single album titled ‘This Man’ next month. Pledis Entertainment made the announcement last night via a cryptic video teaser showing a bustling city intersection in the middle of the night, under a heavy downpour. In the video, when a particular building with a big VCR screen is struck by lightning, banners begin to unveil and flyers start falling from the sky promoting the debut.
The post, made on X (formerly Twitter), also indicated that the album will be available on June 17 at 6 pm KST or 5 am ET. Although more details on the album’s tracklist are yet to be announced, fans couldn’t be more excited about this news.
This sub-unit from SEVENTEEN will mark the second official sub-unit from the band after BSS, composed of Seungkwan, DK, and Hoshi, debuted in 2018. Besides, BSS recently returned with the single ‘Fighting’ featuring rapper Lee Young-ji last year. The 13-member group has established Hip-Hop, Performance, and Vocal teams dedicated to their successful musical run since their debut. Wonwoo also collaborated with Mingyu for a standalone single titled ‘Bittersweet’ with vocals from Lee Hi earlier this year, while Jeonghan is a part of the band’s Vocal Team.
The announcement of Jeonghan and Wonwoo’s debut as a sub-unit comes less than a month after they released their first-ever compilation album titled ’17 is Right Here,’ featuring four new tracks — ‘Maestro,’ and one track each from the Hip-Hop, Performance, and Vocal teams. This unique collaboration is set to make the summer hotter for SEVENTEEN fans worldwide.
Music videos for the Hip-Hop Team’s ‘LALALI’ and Performance Team’s ‘Spell’ have been released, while the Vocal Team’s music video for ‘Cheers to youth’ is set to drop later this week on May 24. With this announcement, fans can’t wait to see what new tunes will be released by the new sub-unit, Jeonghan and Wonwoo
