Coming soon from the Wigs label is “WIGS002,” a V/A that celebrates the women of the party-turned-label with a mix of electro, techno, and breakbeat. Released on June 6, the record includes label head IMOGEN, NVST, Rebecca Delle Piane, and Grace Dahl. Dahl’s track “I Like Em Sexy” was released this week to complete the A-side of the EP.
Dahl commented on her contribution, saying “I decided to shake things up a bit and step out of the box on this one.” She continued by saying she ventured into a breakbeat style that was a first for her but couldn’t resist returning to her established “four to the floor” roots post-break. Rebecca Delle Piane offers a hardgroove cut on the B-side, while NVST brings up the rear with ‘A Face Has No Voice’, showcasing dub, breaks, and IDM in eight minutes.
