Lewis Capaldi spotted recording with Noah Kahan after mental health hiatus

Lewis Capaldi has returned to the recording studio to work on new music with Noah Kahan following his hiatus from the music industry. Capaldi’s break was announced nearly a year ago after his Glastonbury 2023 appearance, where he struggled with his voice. In January of this year, Capaldi updated fans on his health, stating that it was going “great.”

The Scottish artist appears to have new music in the works, which was hinted at by a post from Noah Kahan on Instagram. In the post, Kahan shared a series of pictures with Capaldi tagged in the third image, wearing headphones and in a recording studio. Kahan captioned the post with, “There ain’t nothing to report, but I hope you’re bored and heading north.”

Capaldi announced that he would release a deluxe edition of his album Broken By Desire to be Heavenly Sent, which contained five new songs from his second studio album. When the album was originally released in May 2023, NME gave it three stars but praised its best song “How I’m Feeling Now,” which replaced romance platitudes with inwards-looking and potent themes.

Noah Kahan recently showcased his hit single Stick Season with Olivia Rodrigo in New York. In January, Rodrigo spoke about collaborating with Kahan at the Governors Awards in Hollywood, stating, “I love Noah Kahan. I think he’s so great and he’s very inspiring… One of these days.”

Despite the lack of information, fans are excited to hear new music from Capaldi after his break
