The iconic music trio, Crosby, Stills, and Nash, were celebrated at a tribute concert in New York’s Carnegie Hall this week. The event, which was the 19th instalment of Michael Dorf’s annual Music Of charity show, featured various artists who performed renditions of the group’s most popular songs, raising over $2 million for music education in the process. Notably, Graham Nash, one of the surviving members of the band, made a surprise appearance, performing two of his tracks to the surprise and delight of the audience.
Other musicians who featured on the night included Todd Rundgren, Steve Earle, Yola, Iron & Wine, Real Estate, and many more. However, David Crosby, who passed away in January 2023, was notably absent from the proceedings. Still, Nash’s appearance at the end of the night helped to make up for his absence, as he was able to charm the crowd with his touching performances of “Our House” and “Love The One You’re With.”
Despite the absence of Crosby, Stills and Nash’s tribute concert at the Carnegie Hall proved to be an incredible event that celebrated the iconic group’s musical legacy. The event was a reminder of the enormous impact that the trio has had on the music world, and how their timeless songs continue to resonate with audiences around the world.
Later this year, Nash is set to return to Carnegie Hall for a full set on October 1 as part of his upcoming US headline tour. The musician recently sold the rights to his back catalogue to Irving Azoff’s Iconic Artists Group for an undisclosed sum, a deal that included songs from his solo career, as well as his time in The Hollies and Crosby, Stills and Nash.
In an interview earlier this year, Nash paid tribute to his former collaborator, David Crosby, revealing that the two of them had been getting closer towards the end. Fans of the group and fans of Nash and Crosby, in particular, will no doubt be eagerly awaiting the chance to catch the legendary musician and songwriter perform live once again
