The Blood Brothers announce first tour in a decade and reissue of ‘Crimes’

The Blood Brothers, a post-hardcore band from the US, have revealed their first tour in a decade. On May 14, the long-dormant group took to social media to announce the 16-date tour, which is set to begin in November and run through to December. The tour plans to cover North America’s San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, New York and Chicago, among other cities.

On May 15, presale tickets were made available from Ticketmaster via the code “SOUNDCHECK”, and general sales will begin on May 17. The announcement of the tour was preceded by the news that the Blood Brothers’ seminal 2004 album “Crimes” would be reissued on October 4. The 20th anniversary reissue will feature B-sides, a 20-page booklet with new liner notes and photos, and will be available in three limited-edition covers on the Epitaph Records label.

Vocalist Jordan Blilie has said of the reissue and tour, “As we’ve been putting together the 20th anniversary reissue of ‘Crimes’,  what I’m struck by most listening back is the energy”. He added, “It’s an experience that never really goes away, and one we wanted to share again. So, we’ll be playing a handful of shows this fall. We hope to see you there”.

The Blood Brothers formed back in Seattle in 1997, releasing their first album, “This Adultery Is Ripe”, in 2000. They went on to produce five studio albums and ended up breaking up in 2007 after releasing what would be their final album, “Young Machetes”. They reunited briefly in 2014 to perform a few shows and have been dormant since then.

Fans are sure to be thrilled at this long-awaited reunion, especially as Blood Brothers have given no indication that they will be hitting the road elsewhere in the world at this point. Regardless, the band members seem raring to go in America, effectively picking up where they left off and providing an opportunity to experience their raw, energetic sound for another generation
