Jane’s Addiction announce surprise, intimate London show

Jane’s Addiction announced a surprise intimate show in London that will be held later this month. The 90s alternative rock group will start their upcoming UK and European tour off at the Bush Hall on May 23rd, which was recently reported to be under threat unless it could raise £42,000 through crowdfunding. The band’s tour dates will continue through to June, the 28th where their last show of the tour will be in Dublin. This year’s tour dates mark their first in the United Kingdom in eight years, where they last performed in 2016. Perry Farrell, the group’s lead singer said, “We can’t wait to see your faces again, singing songs and soaring to the moon in a new rocket.’

The show at the small London venue was not originally on the band’s tour list, but tickets went on sale on May 10th, and fans can still buy them if they are available through Ticketmaster. Jane’s Addiction is set to headline at the Bearded Theory Festival in Derbyshire on May 25th. This newly-announced intimate show comes after the iconic music venue has recently gone through financial difficulties. After facing a 24.5% drop in live music bookings in 2023, the venue warned that if it were to lose its music status, “the loss will impact on local, national and international communities.”

This year’s tour dates will feature Eric Avery rejoining the line-up, which is the first run of European shows since he rejoined the band’s tour last year after leaving in 2010. The news for their world tour route came after the frontman teased that new music is on the rise, and the classic line-up of the band was reinstated for the first time since Avery left touring. Furthermore, if the new music turns out to be an LP, it will be their first new music since their 2011 studio album The Great Escape Artist.

Jane’s Addiction is best known for their hits like “Been Caught Stealing” and “Jane Says,” the latter becoming one of their most recognizable songs. The alt-rock group continues to make their way through Europe on their tour after their recently announced London performance at the legendary Bush Hall. Fans will undoubtedly enjoy the performance at this classic and historic venue
